I noticed that when the motor is off and the key is at the ONII position, I can hear a very high pitched whine from the injectors. You have to really have your ear next to the injectors to hear it. Its only audible if there isn't any background noise, such as in a garage. I'm thinking that this is due to the EM field around the powered injector coil which causes resonance. Anybody know if this is normal?

Zip, it's normal. It is just the fuel pump filling the rail with fuel. I alway wait till the ding sound is done b4 starting my car. Force of habit, but it is alway safer to have full pressure in there when you start. If you let it do it once then start, and then shut down and start right away you won't here the sound again becaus the pressure is still in there. No need to worry abou this one

I don't think that's it Javin, the pump only primes for like two seconds, right? The pump had already primed when I heard this noise coming from the injectors, as long as I had the key on the ONII position I could hear the high pitched whine.

I don't think the pump ever shuts off. As far as I know, there's no sensor to do this. Maybe there's a "high flow" whine at start-up when its filling the rail (controlled by the fuel pressure regulator(s)) and a low/no flow whine when the regulator is bypassing the fully pressurized fuel rail.

Oh, I didn't know that. I thought the fuel pump turned off after priming, w/out the motor on of course. Hmmmm...this may be the case. Thanks Javin and BlownAway!

I believe you were right about the pump just priming the injectors then turning off. With the loud-ass externally mounted bosch you can hear it run for a couple seconds, then turn off. THEN turn back on when the car is started.

if the injectors were making a noise it would be a pulsating noise.they should not make a noise unless the motor is runing.all the hondas i have seen only run the pump for a second when the key is on without the engine running.
